  • Add all ingredients to a pot. Bring pot to a boil and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, until beans are soft. Garnish with Thrive Shredded Cheddar Cheese (if you put it on top of the soup right out of the pot, it will melt nicely!), dollops of guacamole and sour cream and chips.

Beef Stroganoff Meal Prep in a Jar

     Put into quart size canning jar.  To keep for extended period of time, add an oxygen absorber to the jar only to keep it fresh.  (You can also use an empty Pantry size can, but the oxygen absorber won’t keep it fresh as the seal is not tight enough).      For best value, buy ingredients during our Black Friday or Spring Sales!  Spring sale will start April 19, 2018 until 11:59 PM MST on 4/23/2018, but I can put your order in on the 18th for you if you send me your ahead of that date! 1/4 cup Thrive Mushrooms
2 Tbsp Thrive Espagnole Sauce Mix

1 tsp Thrive Beef Bouillon

1/4 cup Thrive Bechamel Sauce Mix
1/4 cup Thrive Sour Cream powder
1 tsp Chef’s Choice Seasoning Blend
1 tsp Garlic Powder

Self-Management

Peter Drucker said:

“In a few hundred years, when the history of our time will be written from a long-term perspective, it is likely that the most important event historians will see is not technology, not the Internet, not e-commerce. It is an unprecedented change in the human condition. For the first time — literally — substantial and rapidly growing numbers of people have choices. For the first time, they will have to manage themselves. And society is totally unprepared for it.”

How can we prepare to manage ourselves? Here are some ideas I have garnered in my recent reading and listening:

  1. Know what is happening! Take stock of your personal weaknesses and strengths. Keep yourself notified of current events, for your family, community, country, world. Realize that changes are going to happen all your life.
  2. Take time for you every day! Do something that you need to take care of for you or your business, and don’t let anyone interrupt!
  3. Listen to others!  People need to know they are important, so really open your heart and mind and listen to them. Only then will you know how to communicate with them!  Others also see you in a different perspective than you see yourself, so they can give you insight that you might not otherwise receive.
  4. Be an example!  Do what you want to see the world do, be the first if necessary! Don’t follow in others’ footsteps, make the trail yourself!
  5. Set goals! This is very important, as without them you will have only dreams. Read up on S.M.A.R.T. goal setting, set your goals, then work on them daily! A great way to keep the goals is to give yourself prizes when you reach milestones.  Don’t forget to review and analyze them every 6 months or so, and make any changes necessary.
  6. Keep a growth mindset!  Realize that everything we do is based on our own efforts and choices, not on how/where we were born. Make your focus point # 7.
  7. Constantly progress!  In other words, better yourself. Learn a new skill, take up a new hobby, take a class, be a volunteer, work on a weakness, etc.
  8. Find a mentor!  We all need to be taught things, so find someone who is experienced and successful at what you want to do, and ask them for help!
What does this have to do with Thrive Life? I wouldn’t be doing all this if not for the people who have come into my life through my affiliation with Thrive Life! I am working toward a better me!

Thrive Life food: Why is Freeze dried food so Amazing?

  1. Snack on it right out of the can, or make a “trail mix”. Create your own or use one of these great trail mix recipes! You will need to drink extra water when snacking on dried foods, so this is a great way to get into that habit!
  2. Refreshed by either tumbling in a container with a bit of water, sitting in a marinade, or spraying a tiny bit of water on the more fragile foods like raspberries, blackberries, cherries and red seedless grapes so they don’t go all soggy.
  3. Toss them right into the food you are cooking. Be sure to add extra water if it’s not a recipe that already has lots of liquid. See our chart for how much water is needed to refresh the ingredient you are using.
  4. My favorite way: Thrivealize!  Use Thrive ingredients in place of “fresh”, canned or frozen when you create your family’s favorite meals! Veggies, meats and sauce powders are great for soups, stews, casseroles and stir-frying. Fruits can be used powdered in smoothies, cake frostings for extra flavor and avoiding food coloring, or whole or broken up in pies, turnovers and sauces.
  5. Chef Boxes: A kit  full of ingredients and recipes to make fast and easy meals! About half or more of the recipe is from the box, the rest from your fridge and/or pantry.
  6. Simple Plate: Home delivered, Already prepped Meal kits! Cereal box sized packages, with only cellophane wrapping for each ingredient, hardly any trash! Just add water and perhaps a few pantry items, cook and serve!

Hearty Cream of Potato Soup

Quick, easy, on-the-run jar meal. Just add hot water!

Instructions

  • Layer ingredients in quart canning jar. When ready to make it, add 4 cups of water (or more or less to your taste), simmer about 10-15 minutes.
    Serve with shredded cheese on top. (If you ladle into bowls and put freeze dried shredded cheese on top right away, it will melt nicely!)
    You could also garnish with a dollop of sour cream and a couple of small pieces of freeze dried spinach or kale crumbled on top. Some tortilla chips will go great with this soup too!
