Self-Management

Peter Drucker said:

“In a few hundred years, when the history of our time will be written from a long-term perspective, it is likely that the most important event historians will see is not technology, not the Internet, not e-commerce. It is an unprecedented change in the human condition. For the first time — literally — substantial and rapidly growing numbers of people have choices. For the first time, they will have to manage themselves. And society is totally unprepared for it.”

How can we prepare to manage ourselves? Here are some ideas I have garnered in my recent reading and listening:

  1. Know what is happening! Take stock of your personal weaknesses and strengths. Keep yourself notified of current events, for your family, community, country, world. Realize that changes are going to happen all your life.
  2. Take time for you every day! Do something that you need to take care of for you or your business, and don’t let anyone interrupt!
  3. Listen to others!  People need to know they are important, so really open your heart and mind and listen to them. Only then will you know how to communicate with them!  Others also see you in a different perspective than you see yourself, so they can give you insight that you might not otherwise receive.
  4. Be an example!  Do what you want to see the world do, be the first if necessary! Don’t follow in others’ footsteps, make the trail yourself!
  5. Set goals! This is very important, as without them you will have only dreams. Read up on S.M.A.R.T. goal setting, set your goals, then work on them daily! A great way to keep the goals is to give yourself prizes when you reach milestones.  Don’t forget to review and analyze them every 6 months or so, and make any changes necessary.
  6. Keep a growth mindset!  Realize that everything we do is based on our own efforts and choices, not on how/where we were born. Make your focus point # 7.
  7. Constantly progress!  In other words, better yourself. Learn a new skill, take up a new hobby, take a class, be a volunteer, work on a weakness, etc.
  8. Find a mentor!  We all need to be taught things, so find someone who is experienced and successful at what you want to do, and ask them for help!
What does this have to do with Thrive Life? I wouldn’t be doing all this if not for the people who have come into my life through my affiliation with Thrive Life! I am working toward a better me!

And you can too!

What's so great about Thrive Life food?

Ways to Thrive

There are 6 ways to enjoy

Thrive Life food: Why is Freeze dried food so Amazing?

  1. Snack on it right out of the can, or make a “trail mix”. Create your own or use one of these great trail mix recipes! You will need to drink extra water when snacking on dried foods, so this is a great way to get into that habit!
  2. Refreshed by either tumbling in a container with a bit of water, sitting in a marinade, or spraying a tiny bit of water on the more fragile foods like raspberries, blackberries, cherries and red seedless grapes so they don’t go all soggy.
  3. Toss them right into the food you are cooking. Be sure to add extra water if it’s not a recipe that already has lots of liquid. See our chart for how much water is needed to refresh the ingredient you are using.
  4. My favorite way: Thrivealize!  Use Thrive ingredients in place of “fresh”, canned or frozen when you create your family’s favorite meals! Veggies, meats and sauce powders are great for soups, stews, casseroles and stir-frying. Fruits can be used powdered in smoothies, cake frostings for extra flavor and avoiding food coloring, or whole or broken up in pies, turnovers and sauces.
  5. Chef Boxes: A kit  full of ingredients and recipes to make fast and easy meals! About half or more of the recipe is from the box, the rest from your fridge and/or pantry.
  6. Simple Plate: Home delivered, Already prepped Meal kits! Cereal box sized packages, with only cellophane wrapping for each ingredient, hardly any trash! Just add water and perhaps a few pantry items, cook and serve!
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Home Delivery

Have you ever tried home delivered meals before?  Like the ones with fresh veggies, cheese, meats and/or herbs?  How did you like them?  What were the pros and cons?

Some I have heard already were: Pro – fresh veggies and meats taste like no other.

Con – lots and lots of packaging and insulation materials, takes time to prep (wash and cut up) the meat and veggies, one person even forgot to cancel them while on vacation and came home to boxes of rotten food!

I want to introduce you to OUR home delivered meals:

Simple Plate from Thrive Life!

Simple Plate box in the middle of various Thrive Life packages

Simple Plate comes in a breakfast cereal sized box, with the ingredients pre-prepped and measured in small cellophane type bags!

Everything is freeze dried, so the flavor and nutrition is locked in to pre-cooked meats and the naturally ripe fruits and veggies, and it won’t spoil for at least 3 months unless opened.

There are 10 varieties available now, with another being released Oct. 1st:

First 9 Simple Plate Varieties

Newest version: Rigatoni Rustica            Simple Plate Thai-Style Coconut Beef ready to make meal

Simple Plate is a home delivered meal kit that helps you get meals to the table in under 30 minutes*. All the ingredients are prepped and measured, so dinner on a busy day is so easy! Even kids can make them!  Here is a video of my 10 year old granddaughter making one.

And if you don’t have time to get to your box, you can  just put it on a shelf until you do, because they last for 3 months! They contain no preservatives either! Meals cost between $7.50-$8.50 per serving, which is about what you pay at the drive-thru for greasy burgers these days…

I can come over and give you a demo so you can see how fast and easy it is, and how great it tastes!

*The pizza meal takes longer, because the fresh dough needs to rise!

How is Thrive Life food healthy?                                                                                                   Strawberries, blueberries, peas and other foods

We start by picking food off the plants when it is fully ripe, not a moment before!  This is when the nutrients and flavor are at their highest level. Then, it is flash frozen to lock in that nutrition.  Next, the food is freeze dried, which preserves the nutrients in the food for up to 25 years!   See about our NutriLock promise.

With meats, the fat is trimmed off to keep it lower in calories and cholesterol too!

We don’t compromise when it comes to the quality of our foods, we are very picky with our suppliers!

Why Thrive? picture of a family eating a meal

Join the new Food Revolution!

At the time of the Napoleonic wars, the food industry was revolutionized with food preserved in jars. Nicholas Appert, after observing that food in glass containers did not spoil unless the seal leaked, was awarded a prize of 12,000 francs in 1810 by a French minister, Count Montelivert, for this invention of “canning” in jars! Philippe de Girard was said to have invented the can for preserving food, but did not get legal credit for it.

In 1812, the first cannery was established in the US by Robert Ayars in New York City. The popularity of canned foods zoomed during subsequent wars!

In 1861, freezing food was found to preserve it. Clarence Birdseye (now that’s a familiar name, right?) discovered cryogenics  (“flash freezing”) in 1929, which innovated the process. Then, in the 1950s and 1960s, frozen food in ready to heat meals, a/k/a TV dinners became wildly popular! But you need to have electricity and room in the freezer to keep them

In the 70’s and 80’s the big thing was Fast Food, (think McDonalds), but it was not so good for you….

Today there is Freeze Dried food from Thrive Life, which is healthy, tasty, easy to store (even long term), quick and easy to get on the table, and even helps other countries with their food (and other) issues, a program called Thriving Nations.  There are even ready to make meals called Simple Plate that are healthy, chef designed meals, most of which are ready to eat in about 30 minutes! No refrigeration, knives or doing it today, it’s ready when you are! Simple Plate has a shelf life of about 3 months!

Let me show you how to Live Long and Prosper with Thrive Life!
