Green Chile Mexican Soup

Ingredients:

1/4 c. Thrive Onion Slices (if you want smaller pieces, substitute Thrive Chopped Onions)
 clv. garlic, minced
2 c. Homemade Salsa Verde (or 1 lg can of salsa verde from the store)
 large can green chilies
1/3 c. Thrive Bechamel Sauce mix
 tsp. THRIVE Chicken Bouillon + 2 cups water

Chips, cheese, and guacamole as desired

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a pot.
  2. Bring pot to a boil and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until beans are soft. Garnish with Thrive Cheddar cheese (if you put it on top of the soup right out of the pot, it will melt nicely!), dollops of guacamole and tortilla chips.

Homemade Salsa Verde

Ingredients:

1 c. Thrive Chili Peppers

1/4 c. Thrive Sliced Onions

3 cloves garlic

4 peeled and halved Tomatillos (looks like green tomatoes with a lacy green skin over them.)

1 t. Thrive Cilantro

1/2 t. Thrive Chef’s Choice Seasoning

1/2 t. Thrive Peppercorn Blend

2 T. Olive Oil

1/2 c. water

 

Directions:

Cook tomatillos in water until they are soft. Put all ingredients in blender and process until as smooth as you desire. I like it a bit chunky. This will store in the fridge for a few days.

Best Chicken Salad Ever! Meal in a Jar

Ingredients:

1/4 cup Thrive Chopped Chicken

1 T. Thrive Chopped Onions (FD) (not dehydrated version, they won’t refresh as fast)

1 T. Thrive Chopped Celery

1 T. Thrive Sweetened Cranberries or you can skip this or substitute Thrive Red Seedless Grapes (I like the sweet/tangy contrast!)

1 t. or 1 personal packet of mayonnaise (you can use any mayo, but Olive oil variety is good for Keto or Paleo diets!)

1 t. or 1 personal packet of Dijon Mustard (you can sub the mustard, but Dijon gives it the best flavor IMHO!)

Pinch of Thrive Chef’s Choice Seasoning

Pinch of Thrive Peppercorn Seasoning

 

Instructions:

Put the ingredients in 4 oz canning jar, shake gently to mix, then put the condiment packets down the side or on top.

When ready to eat, remove the packets, add their contents to the jar with 1/4 cup water, shake well, then let rest for 5-10 minutes in fridge or ice bucket. It may seem too watery at first, but that will thicken up during the rest time.

Voilà! Instant lunch!

It’s even better if you mix it first thing in the morning and let sit in fridge until lunch time!

Peter Drucker said:

It is an unprecedented change in the human condition. For the first time — literally — substantial and rapidly growing numbers of people have choices. For the first time, they will have to manage themselves. And society is totally unprepared for it.”

How can we prepare to manage ourselves? Here are some ideas I have garnered in my recent reading and listening:

  1. Know what is happening! Take stock of your personal weaknesses and strengths. Keep yourself notified of current events, for your family, community, country, world. Realize that changes are going to happen all your life.
  2. Take time for you every day! Do something that you need to take care of for you or your business, and don’t let anyone interrupt!
  3. Listen to others!  People need to know they are important, so really open your heart and mind and listen to them. Only then will you know how to communicate with them!  Others also see you in a different perspective than you see yourself, so they can give you insight that you might not otherwise receive.
  4. Be an example!  Do what you want to see the world do, be the first if necessary! Don’t follow in others’ footsteps, make the trail yourself!
  5. Set goals! This is very important, as without them you will have only dreams. Read up on S.M.A.R.T. goal setting, set your goals, then work on them daily! A great way to keep the goals is to give yourself prizes when you reach milestones.  Don’t forget to review and analyze them every 6 months or so, and make any changes necessary.
  6. Keep a growth mindset!  Realize that everything we do is based on our own efforts and choices, not on how/where we were born. Make your focus point # 7.
  7. Constantly progress!  In other words, better yourself. Learn a new skill, take up a new hobby, take a class, be a volunteer, work on a weakness, etc.
  8. Find a mentor!  We all need to be taught things, so find someone who is experienced and successful at what you want to do, and ask them for help!
What does this have to do with Thrive Life? I wouldn’t be doing all this if not for the people who have come into my life through my affiliation with Thrive Life! I am working toward a better me!

Thrive Life food: Why is Freeze dried food so Amazing?

  1. Snack on it right out of the can, or make a “trail mix”. Create your own or use one of these great trail mix recipes! You will need to drink extra water when snacking on dried foods, so this is a great way to get into that habit!
  2. Refreshed by either tumbling in a container with a bit of water, sitting in a marinade, or spraying a tiny bit of water on the more fragile foods like raspberries, blackberries, cherries and red seedless grapes so they don’t go all soggy.
  3. Toss them right into the food you are cooking. Be sure to add extra water if it’s not a recipe that already has lots of liquid. See our chart for how much water is needed to refresh the ingredient you are using.
  4. My favorite way: Thrivealize!  Use Thrive ingredients in place of “fresh”, canned or frozen when you create your family’s favorite meals! Veggies, meats and sauce powders are great for soups, stews, casseroles and stir-frying. Fruits can be used powdered in smoothies, cake frostings for extra flavor and avoiding food coloring, or whole or broken up in pies, turnovers and sauces.
  5. Chef Boxes: A kit  full of ingredients and recipes to make fast and easy meals! About half or more of the recipe is from the box, the rest from your fridge and/or pantry.
  6. Simple Plate: Home delivered, Already prepped Meal kits! Cereal box sized packages, with only cellophane wrapping for each ingredient, hardly any trash! Just add water and perhaps a few pantry items, cook and serve!
